Website!!

Well, I really haven't blogged much recently, but I do have some great news! Hopefully by this weekend, Loni and I will have our website up and running. Loni and I go waaaaay back! We are 12 days apart and grew up in church together. We started kindergarten together and always pretended like we were sisters. Life has since seperated us, with college and marriage, and the fact that she has 2 kids under 2, but we remain great friends! Recently, we have been in talks about opening up our own shop with all of our crafts. We both love to sew, paint, and look at something and figure out how to do it ourselves. So this weekend, we will be debuting our new shop that will include bows, diaper caddies, pacifier clips, etc. Eventually we will be working our way up to nursery bedding and the coordinates that goes with welcoming your new bundle of joy home. I am very excited about our new projects and we are almost ready to debut all of our craftiness! As soon as the website is up and running, I will let you know. I can't wait to get this started!

Weight Loss

So I finished day 5 of my workout and so far I have lost 3.8lbs. I decided to do the workouts Mon-Fri since we are always so busy on the weekends with traveling or church and family time. I'm just modifying my diet accordingly and eating a lot of fresh fruits and veggies with no added salt or sugar. I feel better and I can already tell a big difference in my endurance throughout the video. I didn't tell Kent about the video, I just wanted to see if he will notice a difference if I lose a bunch of weight. HAHA!! So week 1 of 6 down!

Feeling It!

Well, Monday I started my diet/exercise plan. I've been seeing soooo much advertising about P90x and Jillian Michaels's 30 day shred that I was inspired! However, after searching out the prices of each, I opted to go for the Shred since it was only $13 on ebay and P90x anywhere between $60-$120. I know myself, and therefore, if I don't completely follow through, $13 is not that bad. And 30 days sounds soooo much better than 90! So Monday was my first workout. I think that I did very well since I really haven't engaged in too much physical activity in quite a while. Plus the fact that every time I sit back down tonight at work my leg muscles are feeling the burn! I cleaned out our pantry and reorganized all of our shelves. It looks so much better and I am a lot happier with where everything is now. Everything's no longer just thrown in there. I am trying my best to start going through all of our junk and getting rid of stuff that we don't need. It's just so hard when you've both had a house and neither one of you want to let anything go. I have my moments where I just want to throw away everything, and try to forget about whatever it was. Then there are days that I just look at our extra bedroom junk room, I just close the door back and pretend that it doesn't exist. But I do think that before summer is over, I WILL finish what I started a long time ago and get that room cleaned out! And maybe turn it into an actual guest bedroom. AAAHHHH...Wouldn't that be nice!

Busy Weekend

I decided to split our weekend into two different posts since I kind of ramble a little. :) Anyway, Sunday morning, we headed to Kent's sisters place at the Warrior River. They just bought a spot this year and Sunday was our first time to go. I had never been anywhere on the river, I've grown up going to Smith Lake, but I really like it! Their place is in a great location with a great view. I couldn't do anything but visit because I was going to Jennifer's baby shower at 2pm. But since I had yet to see their new vacation spot, I had to go! I watched my niece, nephew and a couple of their friends pull each other around on the innertube. They were having a great time!
Then I went to the baby shower. Everything was decorated so beautifully! Everything matched the decorations for Bryson's nursery, and the food was great! When Jennifer finished opening up all of her presents, Heather and I were looking at all of her wonderful gifts. I was looking at her bedding, and I heard "Tink!" I looked in the floor and there was a porcelain cross that I had apparently knocked in the floor-in about 5 pieces. "That really just happened." I felt sooooo bad! I found out it came from Hobby Lobby and went there today and thankfully, they had another one that I will soon replace the one that I broke. OOPS!!! Sorry Jennifer! Here is a pic of some of us from work with Jennifer in the middle:

Busy Weekend!

Saturday, Kent and I drove down to the beach for the day. Yes, I said the day. It only takes us 3.5 hours to get to the beach from our house, so we woke up bright and early Sat morning and left the house around 5:30. After stopping by Wally World when we got down there, buying another beach umbrella since we forgot ours, a rolling cooler, and several other items, we claimed our spot on the beach by 10am. We had our cooler full of drinks, boiled shrimp, and apple slices for lunch and we were good to go! As soon as we looked out into the ocean, there was a stingray about 10 feet from the shore. The water was so clear and the waves were minimal. Perfect for me to sit on my lounging float and soak up the rays! The part of the beach we went to wasn't overcrowded. Of course more and more people started showing up later, including some northerners to our right. I could definitely tell from their accent that they were not from the South, BUT something happened a little later that proved that fact. I look over and they were talking to a group of college girls laying out. All of the sudden I see a badger. Yes a badger! Mounted to a piece of wood, posing in front of the college girls with the northerners taking numerous pictures. I have never in my life seen something so ridiculous! After they finished taking pics with the girls, they put the badger on a boogie board at the edge of the shore to take more pics. I of course left my camera in the car, so I couldn't take a picture of the situation, but I will never forget seeing a badger on the beach!
We started packing up our stuff and left the beach around 5 and stopped at King Neptune's on our way out, so we got to eat some fresh seafood. Yummo! Such a great day! And we were home by 10:30pm. Not too bad! Here we are as we headed home:

Cheer Camp

Monday was our niece's final evaluation and awards ceremony at her cheerleading camp in Tuscaloosa. I left as soon as I got off of work Monday morning and met my mother in law so that we could make it on time. There were so many squads competing and I later found out that one of the squads was a former national champion. Well, Hueytown got 1st in the xtreme dance, 1st in the home pom routine and 2nd in the cheer. They did so great and I am so incredibly proud! Watching them always brings back so many memories of when I cheered. I went to a very small school, so we had a much smaller squad that Lindsey's squad of 28. My first year we had 16, but every other year it was between 8-12. Cheering has evolved sooooo much over the- ahem- 9 years since I was a cheerleader. It's so funny to sit and think about the different motions, spirit hands, dances, etc. that we would've never done back then. And the uniforms!?! Much different now! I remember when I was on our JV squad, our socks were up to our knees. Could you imagine that now!?! That would be a riot! When I was in high school, we did evolve in the socks that couldn't be seen above the shoes though-thank goodness!
I loved cheer camp! It was always so much fun meeting and competing against other teams. Our squad went to camp at UNA every year except for 2. Once we went to South AL and got ran off early because a hurricane Erin was coming. The other year, we went to Montevallo and were outside in the scorching mid summer heat all week long, so UNA it was the rest of the time. We got to decorate our doors and rooms, hang signs in the gym. Such great memories! We won camp champs three times and performed at the pregame of the Citrus Bowl twice. I made all star my senior year and was offered an opportunity to go to Australia over New Years. Unfortunately, it was waaaaay too expensive and I didn't get to go, but I will remember those days forever!
I wish that I had a scanner so that I could post some old pics of us at my cheer camp, but I guess that will just have to wait...
It's really hard to believe that it will be 10 years next year that I graduated from high school! I had lunch yesterday with a dear friend that I have known since kindergarten, so we were talking about what we need to do for our 10 yr reunion. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am part of the party planning committee since I was a senior class officer. :) I just don't even know where to start! It's a good thing that we have facebook and that almost all of our 70 fellow classmates are on it so that will make getting in touch with everyone a little bit easier!
